Prevalence of Vaginal Infections in Preterm Labour

Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the association vaginal infection in preterm deliveries. Study Design: Retrospective/prospective Place and Duration: Gynaecology Obstetrics department MSF Women’s Hospital Peshawar King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra for duration six months form August 2021 January 2022. Methods: Total 76 females with ages 18-(42) years were presented study. After receiving informed written consent, detailed demographic information about enrolled patients, such as age, body mass index, domicile, educational status, was recorded. Gravidity status history deliveries also assessed among all cases. Association microorganisms diagnosed by taking high swab sent test bio lab. Prevalence infections risk factors calculated. SPSS 23.0 used analyze data. Results: Among all, 40 (52.6%) between 18-28 years, 22 (28.9%) had age 29-38 14 (18.4%) patients aged 39-48 years. Majority 55 (72.4%) BMI <25kg/m2 21 (27.6%) >25kg/m2. As per socio-economic 44 (59.2%) cases poor, 20 (26.3%) middle 12 (15.8%) from upper class. There 27 (35.5%) Frequency found 28 (36.8%) UTI patients. HVS culture test, candida 25 (35.9%) E.coli most common micro-organism 10 (13.2%) Conclusion: This led us conclusion that greatly contribute unnecessary causes premature labour. Screening asymptomatic genitourinary pregnant women always a good idea. Early diagnosis timely treatment help reduce labour related neonatal morbidity mortality newborns.
